DJ Mano's Biography

Entertaining, exhilarating and experienced are all words that describe the incomparable disc jockey, DJ Mano. At three years old, he was given his first record player and album. Ever since, his love of music on vinyl has never wavered. “I’ve always had a connection with music, it moved me. It is my life,” he has said. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised between there and Greensboro, North Carolina, he was neighborhood kid who wreaked havoc on the turntables for area block parties and events. His mix tapes made their way across Greensboro which enabled him to initiate a mix-show for a local college radio station. That gig led to his meeting of a gentleman called T-Luv (well-known producer and former DJ for artist Timbaland). “He took me under his wing and helped me improve my skills.”

DJ Mano attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. Freshman year, he worked alongside DJ Lord Jazz and the Lords of the Underground. He continued developing his skills at college parties and corporate benefits.While enrolled at Shaw, DJ Mano took several television production classes presenting the grand opportunity of incorporating his deejay mixes with film to create his own music videos. From that point forward
Barnett Entertainment was formed. As owner and operator of production, DJ Mano not only became an entrepreneur, but more independent - spinning hip-hop, reggae, house, and R&B for the masses. As part of the legendary Mix Show WNAA 90.1 MASSIVE HOUSE MIX, Barnett Entertainment also opened the door for video production jobs in the US and abroad.

His ventures have included an Aids Benefit Show with Queen Latifah, as well as being the official deejay for the Tony Award-winning Russell Simmon's Def Poetry Jam at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Also comedy shows at Carolines on Broadway with nationally known BET & HBO comedian, SHANG. During that time is when he made the the first appearance on BET’s RAP CITY. Part of the Scratch Academy’s roster of Great DJs, he has spun for the MTV Campus Invasion, been a Celebrity DJ on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Recently, he rocked the Dave & Buster’s New Year’s Party 08 and Ruby Foos’s New Years 2010 in Manhattan’s Times Square. As a member of the Sniper Squad of DJs, DJ Mano has done live performances in San Diego, California and London, England. Also is the official DJ for Artist Magazine Radio that is on weekly at MOCradio.com

DJ Mano has an enigmatic touch for amazing diverse crowds, especially in many Clubs and Parties across the World. He is a performer and no stranger to ambition. His uncanny ability to choose a crowd-pleasing sound to the range of his unique style, DJ Mano is a genius on the turntables and exemplifies nothing but true, pure talent.
